Each and every normal website is embedded with flash objects and images with different formats such as gif or jpg, we will examine the variety that websites can use in order to show images and flash in their pages.

First, we must assume that our website is not and will never be created only with plain text, this will be a big mistake because each and every user needs to see that the website is well build and more important, looks aesthetic. This can be archived only by images and flash, or any other form of media that stimulates the eye. In order to get customers into your site one must be act wisely and efficiently using images and flash objects. The main purpose is to attract as many customers as we can. In the past web development companies (in Hebrew בניית אתרים) used extensively images and flash while the website couldn’t handle the bandwidth; therefore the result was that no one could see the site eventually.

In the last few years the internet bandwidth got improved dramatically and websites where able to show bigger images and bigger flash objects, and even use movies which was almost impossible thing at that time. Web development companies that develop websites are no longer look at images and flash media as an obstacle. The only obstacle is a web design question regarding the beauty of the site. The popular images format that uses today is:

1.Jpg – Joint Photographic Experts Group, a format that uses a technique that shrink colors at the same color series and the output image looks the same to the human eye, Which means that the same picture can be seen by the human eye with less data stored.

2.GIF – Graphics Interchange Format – supports 256 colors, considered better then the JPG format because it can handle pictures with transparent mode as well. This means that the picture can be blend with the site background colors.

3.PNG- Portable Network Graphics, this format is rather new and cannot be used by any browser, especially old browsers, its capacity is generally smaller then the gif format by 5 percent (average) and its support transparent mode as well. As we mentioned before, this format is relatively new and not every browser supports PNG format.

4.Flash – the flash is an object made from vector graphic, means that it is not depending by resolution; it can be in different sizes(unless we embedded in that flash normal images), the biggest disadvantage that search engines cannot read the text from the object itself.

5.The last type of media in that article is the movie clip, today most of the movies clips are streaming and supported by flash players, so we can assume that in most cases the quality isn’t too high.
